Why are battery energy storage systems important?

At a relatively lower DoD, the discharge capacity of the LFP battery cell is increased slowly (see Appendix Fig. 17 ). Therefore, the increased profit by reducing the DoD is not enough to offset the additional operation and maintenance costs caused by the increase of battery life.
