What is battery management system (BMS)?

Battery packs are a key component in EVs. Modern lithium-ion battery cells are characterized by low self-discharge current, high power density, and durability. At the same time, the battery management system (BMS) plays a pivotal role in ensuring high efficiency and durability of battery cells and packs.

A BMS (act as the interface between the battery and EV) plays an important role in improving battery performance and ensuring safe and reliable vehicle operation by adding an external balancing circuit to fully utilize the capacity of each cell in the battery pack.
