What is inverter control?

Why is minimum input voltage used in duty cycle calculation?

The minimum input voltage is used because this leads to the maximum switch current. The efficiency is added to the duty cycle calculation, because the converter has to deliver also the energy dissipated. This calculation gives a more realistic duty cycle than just the equation without the efficiency factor. (Reference 3 and 4).

What is duty cycle in a synchronous buck converter?

If the FET and diode voltage drops are small compared to the input and output voltage, the duty cycle equation further reduces to the ratio of Vout to Vin. For an ideal synchronous buck converter, where there are no voltage drops across the switches or other losses, duty cycle is exactly the ratio of output voltage to input voltage.
