Do glassless solar cells use PET films?

PET films offer excellent electrical insulation and optical transmittance, making them a suitable material for the front-side cover sheet of solar cell modules and reducing the overall module weight. In this study, we investigated the reliability of glassless modules that use PET films as the front cover material.

Which photocatalysts are used for solar-driven PET recycling?

CPDs/g-C 3 N 4 photocatalysts were employed for solar-driven PET recycling coupled with H 2 production. PET plastic waste was a feedstock to synthesize high added-value chemicals. The yield of high purity TPA was nearly twice that of the control group.

How photocatalysis-assisted upcycling of PET plastic contribute to EG-derived chemicals?

Thus, from the viewpoint of the reaction process, photocatalysis-assisted upcycling of PET plastic made the main contribution to the production of value-added EG-derived chemicals. The advances on photocatalysis have enabled development in plastic transformation to generate high-value chemicals. Table 1.

PET plastic is a “greener” alternative feedstock where its hydrolytic monomer ethylene glycol is converted into high added-value chemicals, mainly including glycolic acid, glycolaldehyde and ethanol; meanwhile, H2 is produced from water splitting.
