What is wind power generation?

Wind power generation is power generation that converts wind energy into electric energy. The wind generating set absorbs wind energy with a specially designed blade and converts wind energy to mechanical energy, which further drives the generator rotating and realizes conversion of wind energy to electric energy.

What is wind power?

Wind power is a form of energy conversion in which turbines convert the kinetic energy of wind into mechanical or electrical energy that can be used for power. Wind power is considered a form of renewable energy. Modern commercial wind turbines produce electricity by using rotational energy to drive a generator.

How does wind power generation work?

The installation produces electricity by collecting and transforming wind power into rotational mechanical energy to drive a generating unit. Wind power generation technology is now relatively mature, with annual generation amounting to 640 TWh, accounting for less than 3% of the world’s total energy consumption.

How has wind power changed over the past 30 years?

Wind electricity generation has grown significantly in the past 30 years. Advances in wind-energy technology have decreased the cost of wind electricity generation. Government requirements and financial incentives for renewable energy in the United States and in other countries have contributed to growth in wind power.
