What is a mobile energy storage system?

Mobile energy storage systems (MESSs) can be self-mobile electric vehicles (vans, buses, or light-duty vehicles) or towable (semi-trailer trucks). During restoration purposes, MESS should be dispatched to the desired location (non-black start generator unis locations).

What is a rechargeable energy storage system?

"Rechargeable energy storage system (REESS)" means the rechargeable energy storage system that provides electric energy for electrical propulsion. The REESS may include subsystem(s) together with the necessary ancillary systems for physical support, thermal management, electronic control and enclosures.“ 2.34.
